Genie Receives LLEAP Award for Z-135/70 Articulated Boom

REDMOND, WASH. (March 1, 2006) – Genie Industries recently received first place in the first annual Leadership in Lifting Equipment and Access Platforms (LLEAP) Award in the Aerial Lifts category for the new Z-135/70 Articulating Boom. The 2005 LLEAP Awards, presented by Lift and Access Magazine, recognizes the top products introduced between April 1, 2004 and March 31, 2005 in a handful of categories in terms of innovation, influence and overall benefits.

The Z-135/70 features Genie’s new and exclusive X-Chassis axle configuration, which has revolutionized the mechanism for extending and retracting axles. Each axle pivots from vertical mounting pins, providing easy and reliable machine setup. The distinctive new JIB-EXTEND jib provides exceptional access by extending the platform from a stowed length of 12 ft (3.7 m) to a fully extended length of 20 ft (6.1 m). This new design provides access to "up, over and in" applications inaccessible by a traditional jib.

Genie’s Z-135/70 offers the largest working envelope in the articulating boom market, providing a maximum working height of 141 ft (42.9 m), horizontal outreach of 69 ft 9 in (21.3 m), and up-and-over clearance of 75 ft 6 in (23 m).
