Genie Family Now Includes Terex Light Construction ProductsREDMOND, WASH. (Feb. 8, 2007) – Genie Industries announced today that Terex Light Construction products are now part of the Genie family. In addition to lifting equipment, Genie is now the source to purchase Terex light towers, generators and power buggies. As part of the integration, the Rock Hill, S.C., manufacturing and distribution facility will now be referred to as Terex Rock Hill. This integration offers significant advantages to rental customers who buy both Genie equipment and light construction products from Terex. Equipment orders, customer service, parts, payments and billing questions are now handled through Genie’s offices in Redmond, Wash. “Both Genie and Terex light construction products go to market in the rental channel, so the integration is a natural move,” said John Gibbons, manager of technical sales at Terex Rock Hill. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for customers to do business with us.” One call does it all — an integrated computer system makes ordering easy. This system provides customers with detailed inventory and production schedule information to easily check product availability and provide accurate lead time estimates for all Genie and Terex light construction products. Customers can simply fax or e-mail a single purchase order to Genie, and the computer then generates an automatic fax or e-mail order confirmation with the estimated ship date. Another benefit of the integration is that Genie has extended its customer service hours to accommodate customers from coast-to-coast. The customer service line is now staffed from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Additionally, the Genie and Terex Light Construction sales and field service teams have been combined and are now trained on the full breadth and depth of Genie and light construction products. “We’ve also adjusted sales territories,” said Gibbons. “Our sales people can now offer a broader range of products with less area to cover, allowing them to be more available to their customers.” This integration also paves the way for seamless service after the sale — from phone support and field technicians to online parts orders. A single hotline will connect customers with the appropriate service expert, whether they have a question about a Genie Z™-boom or a Terex power buggy. Parts ordering will be fully integrated under the Genie system by the fourth quarter of 2007. When the transition is complete, parts for all Genie and Terex light towers, generators and power buggies will be available with one call and billed on one invoice. “It all adds up to one point contact, one source for information and one partner that’s easy to do business with,” explained Gibbons.
