Terex AWP To Provide Genie® Parts At Eastern Distribution Center

Less freight, less time and more flexibility for majority of Genie customers

REDMOND, WASH. (February 8, 2010) – In answer to customer requests to make Genie® parts more easily accessible, Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), a business segment of the Terex Corporation (NYSE:TEX), announced today that it will bring Genie® parts to the newly named Terex Distribution Center East by Fall, 2010. The 500,000 square foot distribution center is located in Southaven, Miss., just outside of Memphis, Tenn.

Customer Satisfaction Research provided feedback that Genie customers overwhelmingly wanted parts more readily accessible in the eastern and southern parts of the country. More than 4,000 of the most frequently ordered Genie® parts will be available at the Distribution Center East in answer to this need.

“Because most Genie® parts are currently manufactured and managed from North Bend, Wash., it made sense to get physically closer to the majority of our customer base,” said Suraj Shetty, Director Parts Distribution, Terex AWP. “We looked at many opportunities in the eastern part of the United States, but realized that we could team up with another Terex business segment to use existing warehouse space that is located in an ideal part of the country to service our customers.

While North Bend, Wash. will remain the main parts hub for Genie® parts, the addition of the new location will provide savings on freight and reduce the distance a part is shipped around the country by up to 44 percent. Plus, with the two Distribution Center model, Terex AWP can cover 95 percent of the country by ground within two days.

Originally, the distribution center supported only Terex® construction products. By Fall of 2010, the distribution center will also manage parts for Genie® and Terex® utilities products as well as Terex® cranes. These changes reflect Terex Corporation’s ongoing commitment to provide responsive customer support and its goal to efficiently utilize its manufacturing and service facilities.

“Because we are moving only the warehouse operations to Southaven, our customers can rely on the same experienced customer service team they have come to know and trust for their Genie® products,” said Shetty. “It will still be the same voices on the other end of the phone when our customers call to place their parts orders.”
